Overview

About our interior painting

Interior painting is mostly preparation. Filling nail holes, sanding patches flush, caulking the gap where trim meets wall, and spot-priming repairs so they do not flash through the topcoat are what decide how a finished room reads. The rolling is the fast part. Sheen matters just as much, because a flat ceiling, an eggshell wall and a semi-gloss baseboard each behave differently under the same light.

Households repaint after builder-grade flat has absorbed a decade of scuffs, landlords refresh between tenants, and families change schemes one room at a time. Tract homes across the Inland Empire share a familiar set of details: two-story entries with tall walls, orange-peel texture, hollow-core doors. Older Riverside neighborhoods add plaster walls and deeper milled baseboards that want a different hand entirely.

We walk the rooms with you first, note the repairs we intend to make, and put all of it in a free written estimate. Floors get covered, switch plates come off, and edges are cut by hand rather than taped and hoped for. Inland summers mean the air conditioning stays on, so ventilation and recoat timing get planned around a house that is still being lived in.

Why it pays off

  • Prep You Can See

The gap between a good repaint and a cheap one is everything that happens before the first coat. Filled, sanded and primed surfaces hold paint longer and stop showing the wall's history.

  • Clean, Deliberate Lines

Wall-to-ceiling and wall-to-trim transitions are cut by hand. A straight line at the top of a baseboard and a sharp corner at the ceiling are what the eye actually lands on.

  • A Livable Jobsite

Rooms are sequenced so you keep a bedroom and a bathroom in service. Tools are gathered at the end of each day and walking paths stay clear while the work moves through the house.

  • Free Written Estimate

Surfaces, number of coats and sheens are listed in writing before anything starts, so there is never any guessing about what is included in the scope of work.

Our process

How we approach interior painting

The order matters as much as the materials. This is the sequence we follow, and the estimate spells out which steps your job needs.

  1. 01

    Protect the Room

Furniture moves to the center or out, floors take canvas drops and plastic, and vents, switch plates and door hardware are removed and bagged so nothing collects spatter or brush marks.

  2. 02

    Patch and Sand

Nail holes and dings are filled, cracks opened and bedded, and patches sanded flush with 120 to 150 grit. Texture is matched to the surrounding wall so repairs disappear under paint instead of telegraphing.

  3. 03

    Caulk and Spot-Prime

Gaps where casing, baseboard and crown meet drywall are caulked with a paintable acrylic latex. Patches, stains and bare filler are spot-primed so they seal evenly and will not flash in the finish coat.

  4. 04

    Cut and Roll

Ceilings first, then walls, then trim. Edges are cut in with a brush and rolled back into the wet cut so the nap texture stays uniform, with two finish coats wherever coverage or a color change calls for it.

  5. 05

    Reinstall and Walk

Hardware, plates and vents go back on, drops come up, and we walk every room with you under the lights you actually use. Touch-ups happen while we are still there, not on a return trip.
