About our exterior painting
Exterior work lives or dies on the surface underneath it. Chalked stucco has to be washed and sealed, hairline cracks bridged with a flexible caulk, and failing wood primed before a single gallon of finish goes up. Sun-facing elevations always fade first, which is why the south and west walls tell you how old the last coat really is.
Most inland houses are a stucco body with wood or composite fascia, trim and garage surrounds, so one building presents four or five distinct substrates and each wants its own primer. Two-story tract homes in Eastvale and Temescal Valley need ladder or lift access to reach eaves and second-floor trim. HOA neighborhoods usually require an approved color scheme before work can begin.
Scheduling is a real part of this job here. Elevations start early, we follow the shade around the house, and we stop before surface temperatures push a coat to dry faster than it can level out. Santa Ana winds get their own plan: masking is weighted and shortened, spraying pauses, and trim gets brushed and rolled rather than letting overspray travel.

Why it pays off

Primers and finishes are specified for the exposure each wall actually gets. South and west elevations carry the worst UV load, and they are where a shortcut shows up first.
Water Kept Out
Caulking and crack repair are part of the paint job, not an add-on. Sealing joints at windows, trim and stucco is how a coating protects the building instead of only coloring it.

Our process
How we approach exterior painting
The order matters as much as the materials. This is the sequence we follow, and the estimate spells out which steps your job needs.
- 01
Wash and Dry
The full envelope is pressure washed to strip chalk, cobwebs, dust and mildew, then given time to dry through. Painting over a chalky or damp surface is the most common reason an exterior coat lets go early.
- 02
Repair and Caulk
Stucco cracks are cleaned and filled, failed sealant is cut out and replaced, and dry-rotted wood at fascia and trim is addressed. Windows, doors and penetrations get fresh elastomeric or urethane caulk.

Scrape and Prime
Loose and peeling paint is scraped and feather-sanded, bare wood gets a bonding or stain-blocking primer, and patched stucco takes a masonry primer so suction evens out across the wall.

Mask Everything
Windows, lights, roof edges, concrete, plants and hardscape are covered and taped. On windy days masking runs shorter and gets weighted, so nothing balloons loose and nothing lands where it should not.

Spray and Back-Roll
Stucco is sprayed and immediately back-rolled to push coating into the texture rather than bridging over it. Trim, fascia and doors are brushed and rolled for a tighter film and a cleaner edge.

Final Detail Pass
Masking comes off, the line between trim and stucco is cut sharp, and we walk each elevation looking for holidays, thin spots and drips before anything is called finished.
